UT8 is the 6th full length release and the 8th overall release by untrained animals, a Calgary-based experimental electronic project. The sounds on UT8 are varied, representing our continuous evolution, but they generally fall on the more delicate side of our output. Ethereal vocals, ambient pads, and orchestral flourishes are prominent (4th Wrld Funkmaster, Japanese Protein), but there are detours into folk and dub (Grass Fed Beef, haha), lounge-y, ambient house (The Clown's Lounge), and darker trip-hop territory (Dank AF). Sometimes, the myriad styles crash together inside of a single track (for example, Psychedelic Sundial Part 1... which, no doubt, suggests there's more of this to come... soon... hopefully). Sit back and relax, consume an edible, and enjoy the ride.
